President - Terry Wilson
When
Ken Goldman gave up his second (temporary) stint as Magazine Editor in 1996, a
youthful Terry Wilson took over. Not a mega-techie when it came to
computers, Terry still managed to produce the Normidian on time with the help of
articles from a regular band of contributors. Not content with having
achieved his Class 1 as a Referee in a 'former life', Terry went through the
whole process again following a spell away from the game, and again
achieved his Level 5 - Class 1! Terry is also actively involved
with Table Tennis (or Ping Pong as it is more affectionately known) and
regularly coaches young players at the Ellenborough Table Tennis Club in
Enfield. It is at Table Tennis that Terry excels, and he has represented
his country at a number of tournaments overseas Having edited the
Normidian for twelve years, Terry stood down, and was elected Society President
in 2008.
Chairman - Tom White
Tottenham born
and bred, Tom played football from his schooldays until 1979 when he took up
refereeing after his knees gave up and stopped him playing. He went through the Training School under the watchful eyes
of Les Davis and George Basten, often disrupting classes with funny stories
and jokes. Tom achieved his Class 1 (Level 5) in 1984. In 1983 he was
elected to the post of Social Secretary, which he held until 1987. Other
commitments - notably his sons playing requirements - meant he took a bit of a
back seat at the Society, but he was still a regular attendee at Meetings and Social
Events. In 1995 he was elected as Social
Secretary again - which he held for one season. In 1997, Tom was elected
Vice Chairman, and Chairman in 2000. Tom is an Assessor and Examiner for
MCFA, and has been awarded Long Service Awards by MCFA and MRA.

Vice Chairman - Vince Yeudall
Vince was elected Vice Chairman in 2000.
Secretary - Robin Jagot
Robin
took on the position of Secretary in 2002. He played football at school,
and continued playing until 1968. Robin qualified as a Referee before he
finished playing, having taken a course with North Middlesex in 1962. When
he finished playing, as he lived in Finchley, Robin joined the North West
Middlesex Society, and it was here that he first showed an interest in Training.
He rejoined North Middlesex eight years later, now living in Potters Bar, and it
was here that his interest in training really flourished, becoming only the
Societies third Training Officer since 1949. Robin has been Secretary of the MCFA
Refereeing Assessing Scheme; became an FA Licenced Instructor in 1987;
was elected a Councillor of MCFA in 1989, and MCFA Secretary for Examinations
and Training, which he held for ten years. Robin was also North Middlesex fPresident rom 1993 until 1996.
Society Treasurer - Gary Cobden
Gary
had
two left feet when it came to playing, so took up refereeing after attending a course aged just 14 in 1973.
He immediately got
involved officiating in school matches, and was appointed as Assistant Referee
on the Enfield Schools Cup Final very early in his career. He was
elected Society Treasurer in 1989, having previously served on the Society
Council, and as a Society Auditor. Unsuccessful in his attempts
at promotion, Gary now mainly
officiates in Youth football, but has still reaped a number of
dividends, including an Assistant Referee on a Spartan League Cup Final; refereeing
for a season on the FA Premier Youth League; and an Assistant Referee on one leg
of a Southern Junior Floodlit League Cup Semi-Final at Highbury. He has
received Long Service Awards from MCFA and MRA, and was Referees Secretary of
the Enfield and District Sunday Youth League for fifteen years.

Training - Stan Rosenthal
Having been one of Robin Jagot's valuable assistants at the Training School for
many years, Stan is an FA Licensed Instructor, and has now taken over the reins
of Training Secretary. Stan is only the fourth person to hold this role in
the Societies history, following in the steps of Arthur Stewart who held the
post from 1949 until 1958; George Basten from 1958 until 1978; and Robin Jagot
from 1978 to 2008.
Magazine Editor - Ken Goldman
Ken
is now entering his third stint as Magazine Editor in 1996, having last edited
the Magazine in Season 2005/2006. With more time now on his hands, Ken has
stepped into the breach again to produce the lifeline of the Society following
former Editor Terry Wilson's decision to stand down after a twelve year stint.

Gear Supplies Officer - Percy Brown
Percy
took over the reins of Gear Supplies Officer from Vince Yeudall in 1999.
Percy is a
devout Arsenal fan - some may ask why!

Council Member - Martin de la
Fuente
Former
Secretary of the Society, pressures of work forced Martin to relinquish that
appointment, however, he continues to lend his expertise to the Society through
his continued membership of the Council. Another person with two left feet
when it came to playing football, Martin first trained as a referee at an NMRS
training course in 1977, and registered with Hertfordshire FA. However,
his love of Spurs seemed to halt his refereeing career first time around, and it
was not until 1994 that Martin qualified again under the guidance of Robin
Jagot, initially to help out his boys who were frequently without a referee when
they were playing. This time Martin registered with Middlesex FA, and
achieved Level 5 status as a referee in 1998. Martin took over as
Secretary of North Middlesex in 1996, and became a County Examiner the same year
as he achieved his Level 5 status.
Council Member - Michael Mackey (Snr)
Another
relative newcomer to refereeing, Michael qualified
just a few years ago, along with his son, Michael Junior.
When Wembley Stadium closed, both Michael and his son were lucky enough to
officiate in one of the last matches to be played there.
Council Member -
Michael Mackey(Jnr)
Since qualifying as a referee a relatively
short time ago, Michael progressed through the ranks and reached Level 5
in 2004, and was promoted to Level 3 in 2008. |
